Share Certificates are the equivalent of a bank CD. It  is a savings product that pays a higher dividend because it is taken out for a specific time period.

The minimum balance required to open this account is $500.00 (with the exception of our 90-day certificate). After the account is opened, you may not make additions to our regular certificates until the maturity date stated on the account. However, we do offer a certificate with an 18-month maturity that allows you to add to the balance at any time during the term. You may not make withdrawals of principal from your account before maturity. You can withdraw dividends any time during the term of crediting after they are credited to your account.

A penalty will be imposed for withdrawals of the principal before maturity. The penalty that we impose is equal to 90 days' dividends on the entire balance. If you withdraw money within the first ninety days of your term, you could lose some principal because you have not accrued enough in dividends to cover the penalty.

Dividends are paid quarterly and you can choose to have your dividends added to the certificate, transferred to another account or sent to you in a check. The annual percentage yield is based on an assumption that dividends will remain in the account until maturity. A withdrawal of dividends will reduce earnings.

Maturity notices are sent to you prior to maturity so that you can decide if you want to renew it. It will automatically renew at the current rate for the same term. If you do not want to renew it, you have ten days from the maturity date to withdraw it without penalty.

We offer certificates with maturities ranging from three (3) to forty-eight (48) months. The rate is usually higher for longer maturities, but "special" offers may change this general rule.
